FlyBy's Breeding Program
Socialization Starts at Day One!
From the time puppies are born, they are continuously learning, growing, and developing. At FlyBy, we take advantage of the imprintability puppies have at such a young age to start them off right. We do our best to follow the Puppy Culture program as close as we can. This program has been proven to increase intelligence, health, trainability and the ability to handle stress for the puppy’s entire life. From the time our puppies are born, they are held, touched, cuddled, and loved on. We practice Early Neurological Stimulation as well as Scent Discrimination from day 3 to day 16. At two and a half weeks old, a litter box is introduced to assist in house breaking and at three and a half weeks old, puppies are introduced to clicker training. We also introduce age-appropriate challenges and toys throughout their entire time in our home. New noises, colors, sounds, textures, people, and objects are all presented in a pleasant and exciting manner so as to facilitate confidence and a "take it in stride" attitude later in life.

FlyBy's Thoughts on VaccinationsMaternal antibodies will protect the puppies for a while, but those antibodies also prevent vaccines from taking effect. The trick is to find the earliest window when the maternal antibodies have worn off. Three vaccines are administered, not because the puppies need 3 vaccines, but because we don't know for sure when the maternal antibodies have worn off. Core vaccines (parvovirus and distemper) should be given 7 days prior to outside socialization. Your puppies receive their first vaccines at 9 weeks old (after the fear period, but a full week before they come home to you). They should be vaccinated against parvovirus and distemper again at 12 weeks and 16-20 weeks of age with rabies and other necessary vaccines (determined by your personal vet) being given at 24 weeks or older.

Puppy Contract![]()
Be Advised: I DO require a co-ownership on all the puppies that leave my home except in VERY unique circumstances.
Please Be Aware! It is of the utmost importance to me that my puppies are successful in their new homes. Puppies are placed based on the needs of the puppy and matched with the most suitable home, NOT based on who sends in a deposit first. Structure, temperament, goals for the puppy, etc. are weighed very heavily. For example, I wouldn't want to put a shy/reserved puppy in a busy home. And a dominant puppy would most certainly fail in an inexperienced family or one with small kids. Puppy buyer preference of a particular puppy in the litter will certainly be taken into consideration, but it will not necessarily be granted. It all boils down to compatibility with the puppy's best interest coming first.
